Whereas on my sunny days the glare and light from the sky would backlight the skyscrapers, a cloudy, morose day made for great photographic opportunities. The buildings would have a stark mirror gloss that would show up fantastically against a uneven gray/white sky. This makes the outline complement the interior texture, and introduces image qualities beyond “tourist” scope.

Composition is the arrangement of subject matter in front of the lens before image capture. Photographers have a lot more power in this dimension of the picture taking arts than they realize. Together with an adroit knowledge of what image manipulation possibilities there are inside the raw file, the address of the lens to the shot provides for endless creativity. Yet all too often photography buffs strive to take a uniform, right angled, non creative photo!

I was checking out the half day and full day and two day digital photography workshop. The two day digital workshops only costs $139. I was thinking that if I could catch one of these days it could be very useful and I would enjoy networking with other photographers and microstockers.

Big Stock Photo has come a long way from the fledgeling low-cost legal image startup to the micropayment behemoth it is today. The effect of Bigstockphoto on the micropayment market cannot be underestimated. The qualifying quiz, the rules, the instructonal tutorial that seperates the “men” from the boys” set the stage for almost every other microstock site.

I got a few emails stating the confusion over my previous post “The Ordinary”. What I had meant to convey was the low cost legal image vending potential inside very plain, unadorned images for multiple focus end user purchases. But the use of the word “ordinary” seemed to overdeliver conveying ugly or unattractive connotations. I realize now some examples might prove my point better.
