If you thought you could get away with not updating your video camera with regard to Microstock use, your number just came up. With the innovation and across the brand slate product releases of DSLR’s, the video cam DSLR capture was only a strobe blink away. If you haven’t upgraded to a DSLR or are still browsing for the right deep-lensed SLR, consider a video camera that can work the stills mode for your Microstock portfolio images.

The newest cameras with video features operate beyond the scope and portability of the professional equipment of main cinematographers five years ago. The DSLR Videocam of today offers almost too many features. Like the first batch of digital cameras and specifically the first successive round of digital video cameras, some of the best models have the simplified controls and fewer global modes to work in.

But HD introduces another quality factor and product endpoint component into your portfolio. D you have a need for high definition video? Will you be launching a Youtube channel or vertical series of subject based or character based videos?

The best video capture quality (HD) is best for even candid videos these days. Some of these cameras even have 240 Gigabytes of hard disk storage. That comes in handy when you between procesing and editing batches and don’t want to hurry managing the data. A delicate chassis is good for indoor and controlled areas, but out in the wild will your precious baby break after the first dropped experience?

Ask yourself if you will need sound or just use the HD video for frame captures.  How much color quality will you need? Would time lapse features give you options you’ve thought about? Are you looking for home cinema playback quality in one step? Is video editing using the raw video data the plan? How will you edit and upload the video files?

Getting a video DSLR camera can save a lot of work in the long run capturing full frame images and still photography using the sophisiicated lenses. But research the different models and storage attributes before buying. Your current equipment with a larger memory stick or extra flash drives might do the trick.
