Micro Blur
The Art and Science of the blur had come about. Whereas heretofore the pursuit of the completely defined edge and through the image clarity is the be-all and end-all of modern photography, the filtering notion of blur is now being touted as the height of photographical sophistication. This is another technique that can transform any camera into a wide angle fast speed film and mimic those effects.
Select several photographs where the primary subject ad the background exists in particular clarity. That the execution of the photograph is efficient is praiseworthy. But the address of blur filtering will highlight the primary subject and throw the background into relief. Crisp images are excellent yet a dreamier effect can create a mood. Cameras with manual focus allow this control at the time of image capture.
Overly focal backgrounds can ruin the direction of a surveyor’s gaze. Soft and dreamy effects can change the image and invert the focus. Overfills can layer in more definition and then the re-blurring can be done. Areas with no overall benefit can be chopped out by recropping. Regressing the photo editing effort ot the original photo should take place is another aspect to the original image reduction can occur.
This is a very good opportunity to reclaim discarded images of marginal quality. Look for a topical image where the keyword subject should be the particular first focus of any onlooker. See also a picture where the background is in bigger clarity than the subject. Focus on the front of the primary subject matter can result in “smart’ cameras delivering a highly focused shot, with the principal clarity coming from background points in frame.
Blur is a weird science for a photographer it goes against the grain of the best goals of photography. But as an editing skill for eligible images it must be discussed and examined as an option to heighten value in certain images. Of course this can be done at the bitmap level by picking up indistinct colors from the background in grays and heightening the blur there, and picking out moments of blur in the primary focal subject.
Areas of improvement for online photo editors and Adobe Photoshop filters can always affect the final image edit of such pictures. But capturing an airtight image with perfect clarity should not be subject to tweaks and vanities of photo editing software in every instance. Only when a shot can be improved with respect to its marketability should these photography “tricks” be employed.
