Micro Opportunity Knocking

Anyone who has got a camera and doesn’t keep it armed and ready with a full set of charged batteries and a memory stick is sleeping on the job. The micro stock job.
When you hear people there are no new stay at home jobs or business opportunities, fight the urge to laugh quietly. There are huge opportunities to earn online under your own steam. The work at home movement is going strong, and those looking for sources of income as a part time job or full time new career should address their micro stock techniques and work processes immediately. The micro stock money is out there. You just have to work for it.
The top story on Yahoo News this morning as I logged into my email was the grocery store price war. Yahoo is a billion dollar company that can afford the highest rates and photo compositions by the best commercial photographers the web has to offer. Typically Yahoo articles have one error every one and a half articles form them I read. But them publish them anyway. Sources of content like this need photos. Badly.
What was their shot? A weirdly composed, undercropped image of a shelf endcap of mustard with a right margin of a unnamed man with two children in the cart. Even though the individuals were somewhat unfocused, you could see them on the margin. I am ready to bet every container of mustard in my pantry those people did not sign a release. That’s a hack photo with poor composition. That editor had no choices.
I saw much the same look at a micro stock image I saw displayed at Hotmail at Msn.com. A woman standing at an airport ticket desk stared at the camera. Was she a model? Or was she just a traveller who still doesn’t know her picture is online? Taking micro stock pictures at an airport is clever, because so many people take pictures there it would be hard to shut anybody down if they saw a flash go off.
The big sites with the big budgets are using micro stock images. Why shouldn’t it be yours? The trick today in this post 9/11 environment is to find a place to take pictures where authorities will not show up and underline that taking pictures is not allowed. If you can be clever and preapred enough, your chance shots might start showing up online too.
