Micro Promotion
The above image is used to generate interest in a new product for one of my clients. The explanation and concept communicate immediately and the color possibilities and functions of the travel netbook cloth case are made to look immensely appealing. The gloss of the netbook computer, the texture of the fabric with its vibrant purple and blue colors and black leopard dots sells the product instantly and successfully.
IÂ noticed today a comment here on the stockblog.net about Photofunia.com, a site which uses uploaded pictures to include in set feature templates of larger images. But this time I had a lot of specialized custom product images to use. These made amusing and captivating slideshow fodder. The images took on a “second life”. Images strong enough to get transformed like this are worth their weight in memory sticks.
Does Photofunia have a way to upload the one image and get the slideshow of all the images? That would be a script worth buying. that would make any product photo an instant marketing and demonstration sales slideshow. Marketing and selling are both ways to promote a product. But images usually speak an international language hard to mistake when a great product is nigh.
I like to look for ways to repackage a great microstock shot in ways that repeat it enough for it to become a brand. When Ebay sends out those $.25 image promotions for a listing, I know that’s the time to tap the power of images to sell the stuff. Instead of using a website to host images why not put all the colors or versions of a given product right on the listing for one item? This saves the browser buyer another “se more by same seller” click.
Using your photography skills to lock in captivating pictures of products and promoting them online is a key marketable skill whose end is nowhere in sight. Finding new ways to present these images but promote their uniqueness is a gift. Online marketing can start with a catchy slogan or funny domain name, but images always register on web traffic and generate page views.
Using pictures in black and white to form stcikers, mailing labels, marketing letter watermarks or simple logos with the company name can save a lot of money in printing and promote your company’s creativity.
