Lightning Rod
Stuck for a light to use as a flash but low on budget? Grab a couple of flash cameras at the dollar store and snap for a flash light during an exposure at variable speeds. These can do the work of reflectors in a pinch. Check out the results, making notes regarding what angle and timing you used from the depress. Additional definition and subject lighting will occur even if you don’t see it in the viewfinder.
 Missed Shots
Know you took the picture but it comes out as an unreadable image on the card reader? Micro stock and other photographers can go through a lot of batteries. But managing battery life between walkabouts is tricky. You may start out with fresh batteries but by the end of the week you are ready to start out, debating how much life is left in the ones you are taking. Worse, you start kidnapping household batteries for remote and other appliances in cases of emergency need.
Keep marked trays with labels showing what level charge the batteries within it are at. Shooting a few compositions in the backyard can use the 30% left batteries, but a full video walkabout will need the new ones or 80% at least to start out. Commit to the battery lifestyle is your camera model demands it and get a bank or rechargeable batteries and a recharger.
