Nature Shot Tips

The Microstock possibilities of nature shots can be surprisingly and stacked one upon the other within each image. The potential to multiply value is very lucrative due to split and cropped shots taken within one strongly dense resolute frame. This makes extra composition time and repeat snaps pay off.
Try it for yourself. The above image was taken walking through a greensward on a day when the cold air was susceptible to the warming sun. The air quality went from freezing and muddy skies to to crystal clear and breezy in about an hour. The early morning hour guaranteed very few pets and pedestrians churning in the background while I lost the shot.
The green color stopped me cold and I had to get a grab on it to see how bright it would come out. I like to see the “grab” in the viewfinder and then review the impact in a the thumbnail right when I am present in the picture environment. Emphasis should be on grabbing clean focus images without the demand for a perfect frame picture.
If you know you can crop and edit, getting some of the best color may allow more freedom in the photo gathering phase. Don’t get distracted by stray branches, sun beams, and unpleasant subject material on rim of frame.
Make sure 75% of the shot is well composed with good color or contrast. Look for one good tonal color, like green, pink, red or blue. Color schemes for existing websites can promote microstock image sales if webmaster are looking for color coordinated images for their sites.
Pausing snapping pictures or making sure you have everything perfectly set up could cost you dozens of images in failing light.
If I have an especially good feeling, I check the image for shadows, smudges, out of focus areas and thumb marks or wobbly frame orientation.
The same shot taken from the same angle throughout the day will deepen colors, cast shadows, change light perspective. After a rain, color and texture will form a visual interplay. These can be very marketable effects.
Commercial slideshow potential and media sites online for page views can make these special conditions your hosting bills. From a practical point of view, even partial shots turn out whole.
If you learn to see through the eyes of your resultant white box with the image in view, you can ascertain which shots “in the wild” to fuss over. Taking a photo walkabout and getting multiple subjects into the frame increases marketability per mega pixel.
