The image file was minimized as I must always do since my twelve mega pixel Kodak establishes a poster sized image of everything. Yeah, I know I could change the setting. But you never know just when that crazy lucky shot will come through. That’s a poor time to be thinking how unwise you were to reset the default specification on your digital camera’s memory and dimension settings.This way I can see the “postage stamp” light box value, as it were.

I knew already that the Water Tower and other “usual suspects” but I did not expect the Biltmore to shine as it did. The deep red brick really spoke up against the skyline, and the angle from the high Bunker Hill ground level painted a rolling San Francisco type topography downtown Los Angeles rarely pulls off. The shimmering granite of the Gas Company building made for some ambitious exterior shots.

This is a good kind of shot to grab when the light is bright enough and coming at an angle which doesn’t flavor the background too heavily with building shadows. I had to work to get the focus right on the fence ornament, and I had to consider while taking the picture how much fence detail to include.
