Sometimes laughter is the best medicine. And when a picture is worth a thousand words, how much medicine can one image be worth? The attempt at a composition of humor requires a sure hand with a quick shot. The two dimensionality of the image capture effect makes the elements appear overly close to each other while yet unrelated to each other.

One of my favorite domain bloggers started describing his effort toward a minisite and I submit the link here to inform micro stock photographers about an excellent way to cement value form their low cost legal image gallery sites and portfolio urls. But this is a very commercial task list, not every microstocker pseudo-professional will need every step.

Target your niche markets surgically. If you specialize in automobile photography, register for online automobile forums. Put your website url in your profile. Somebody there might have good feedback for your shots or constructive advice about finding customers. Tap their user traffic and look into their knowledge base and pick their brains for productive direction in the niche market. The meta tags for any photos you submit will track back to your own website.

The strategy of developing a microstock portfolio needs expansion and descriptive advice. Here is a project list to work on and distribute throughout your calendar. Make this a rainy day pullout list to generate revenue from low cost legal image sales even when it’s midnight, you’re out of batteries, and/or rain and snow are falling. Now would have been a good time for some of those tags attached to the images for sorting. Just tabbing through the images to see which ones I wanted to keep took more time than I could afford. If there is anyone who doesn’t know the difference between a tag and a keyword, it’s that the tag is what the author uses to search images and arrange them for sorting. It allows for easy organization in folders for ftp download and publishing.
