Getting your camera taken in for its 5,000 mile service and oil change (just kidding) is a habitual need for heavy users of their photography equipment. A camera that is so old finding service or parts is impossible can’t be feasible. Aftermarket parts, storage, and replacement battery media can only last so long.
Planning a live model shoot and planning some excellent tableaux. We’ve got four different “types” mapped out. There is an Everyman, a “Obama” type, a Las Vegas gambler, and a religious right-wing zealot. We will be doing video and I will be taking screenshots from the MP4 files.
There is an important message here for microstock (and all photographers). I realized that taking photos of the most innocuous things with human hands involved created a story. This also meant that such photos had a real value for accompanying text. People are now used to seeing a image or photo accompanying the text block in any online form.
I reviewed the software available and saw that I could invest an unlimited amount of time skewing, pasting, cropping and finishing pictures. My approach was to get a cleaner camera with smoother image capturing capabilities. The work was there, and the earnings potential immediate. I just had to get a better picture taking instrument for me.
