The Studio camera

Finding the right camera will depend on how much you use it, what kinds of conditions you use it in, how much you or someone else plan to manipulate the images, and what the end focus of the product image material will be. Action modes and super speed lens settings may not be required for set work or fixed still life micro images.
Pay attention to microstock “liner notes”. Take care to observe the types and brands of cameras and lenses certain shots produce. Check online reviews about cameras and examine the housing. Was the studio camera meant to journey into the wild, or expose delicate housings and assembly mechanisms in the “lab”?
Owning more than one camera if a microstock reality that surprises people! Varying lens type and storage capacity can vary concentration and image output quality.
Depending on your studio work, underwater lenses and aperture control may take a backseat to simple dexterity friendly controls. Strobes and filters are best worked into a picture digitally in Photoshop, unless full SLR capability is possible.
Marketing images takes flexibility. The flexibility of providing different types of images under different circumstances comes in part from the camera. Digital enhancement requirements may dictate a digital camera. Limitations will be felt sharply sooner rather than later. Borrowing cameras and trying them out is advised.
Is the new studio camera filling a need, or expanding current camera equipment capabilities? How much limitation on current camera settings are creating frustration or pain points on projects? Concentration in night shooting, video capability, and manual control could bring out the Margaret Bourke-White in all of us.
Shopping for a camera is rough. Determining the features and the body and the assembly, weight and brand takes commitment. It forces the photographer to places his or her bets up front.  An everyday camera will likely need to be more durable than a once ina blue moon piece of equipment.
A studio camera can have a heavier power source, rechargeable battery of NIMH or equivalent power demands, be heavier, and even more valuable since it won’t go “on the road”. Photo memory storage can be of smaller amounts because the plug and play image transfer option won’t grind so much from across the room/studio/office.
The studio camera can absorb lots of adaptation if the camera chosen has a range of accessories available. Exotic mdoels may not fit “universal” accesories or hot shoes. Time lapse work or fixed object studies will require tripod mounting and
